I think it is impossible to have a successful World Cup without Wayne. I know Wayne will be desperate to go, so fingers crossed he can recover quickly from this. If it is not to be, obviously it is an opportunity for other players - Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Darren Bent - but I would much prefer to have a fit Wayne Rooney in the starting XI.

我非常懷疑朗尼能否在首仗甚至第2仗披甲，我認為他7周後才可上陣。顯然地英格蘭屆時要密切觀察其狀?，特別是會否因操練再次觸傷患處。
我們需要在8強、4強及決賽爆發的高質素球員，而朗尼勢在這關鍵時刻發揮作用。沒有了朗尼，英格蘭會由奪標熱門變成陪跑分子。
